I've heard the reason we don't see mike as much in the stadium before games is that they "don't force him into the trailer". They only bring him around when he wants to get in the trailer willingly.

-Is this true?
-How was it handled back in day (pre PETA)?
-Is it really inhumane to throw food in the trailer to trick him, or have a female tiger rear mounted in the front of his trailer?

He lives in a tiger mansion, and I feel his payment should be a 30 minute ride around the field 7 times a year whether he "feels like it" or not.

He only comes out if he feels like getting in the trailer, if not he stays at his crib....true story

You think LSU's live mascot, which we are very fortunate to have, should be stung with a cattle prod so that you can see him in a trailer for 30 seconds?

I didn't say anything about a cattle prod. I believe he could be lured into the trailer humanely.

Exactly.

If he never comes in the stadium, he is an amazing part of LSU.

How do they determine if he feels like it, do they just leave the cage in his habitat and wait for him to walk in it ?

Please expound on how you can force this type of animal in a cage humanely.

lol @ expound. explain works just fine don't try so hard.

In the original post above I mentioned 2 ways to lure him into the trailer. However, I do not deal with tigers on a daily basis so I'm not an expert on such matters.

Yes. They have a gate in his house that the trailer hooks up to. They open it up and hope he strolls in. Hes too well fed to use food rewards to get in the trailer.

If you put his food in the trailer ever day he will go in every day.......not a big problem.

Like I tell people all the time when dealing with cows, horses, dogs, etc. You have to be smarter than what you are working with.

Put the food in the trailer. As someone else said, do it for a week prior to gameday. No issues. Instincts kick in.

Why don't you go force this 500 pound man-eating jungle cat to get into his trailer for games?

Basically this thread is you saying "I don't know dick about how to handle a tiger or how they act, but LSU is doing it wrong."

Change it to "I don't know dick about how to ________ or ___________, but LSU is doing it wrong."

And that pretty much sums up the Tiger Rant.

I'm sure a cattle prod would convince his pussy arse to get in the trailer. Mike has got to be the laziest live mascot in the country.

Basically in this thread you've come in and provided no helpful answers to my questions. Typical message board hardass looking to poke holes and stick his chest out virtually because he can't do it in real life.
