I know it's not likely, but it's possible. He just needs to average 125 ypg for the remaining 11 games. He's averaged 119 through the first 5. 128 ypg would put him over 2000 yds. One can dream right?

I say pay him and play him as a WR. Just do it. He's not much of a blocker anyway. Make Ben Watson the primary TE and line Jimmy up wherever off the line.

Did you see sounds of the game during halftime of MNF? Ben was giving Jimmy shite for not being able to block. Was funny

We're talking going from 50-60m range to 100+ in that situation..

I know. But you think he doesn't have that leverage? They play him as a WR now, he is going to want to get paid like one and I can't blame him.

It's a very tough situation. But he deserves every penny he gets, either way.

I get sick of that arguement. He is a TE and deserves to be the highest paid TE in the game. He is not a WR.

A lot of guys were on pace to break a lot of records in the first 5 weeks of many NFL seasons

Put yourself in his shoes, man. It's a matter of tens of millions of dollars. If your employer molded your role around A, but paid you like B, wouldn't you want to be paid like A if A's salary was much more than B?

I want the Saints to be in good shape financially, but having a great roster does come at a big cost. Would you rather not have Jimmy Graham? Because I'm guessing he will want to get paid like a WR. And he is played like a WR.

Fitz and CJ have 16mil/yr contracts and gronk's is a bit under 9mil/yr.

I'd be fine with giving him a 12mil contract. should've gotten it done this past year tho.

Says who? So far he has lined more in the slot or out wide than he has at TE.

Problem is, other teams know this. Against the Bears, the Saints threw on 30 of the 37 snaps for which Graham was in the game. The Saints ran on 26 of the 38 snaps Watson played. Is it any wonder the Saints struggle to run the ball? Lance Briggs had three TFLs where he basically 'read the mail' and busted through the blocking before anyone had a chance because he KNEW exactly what was coming.
