....is STILL atrocious. Without a doubt the weakest spot on the field. Slow, bad angles, getting owned by everybody, not disrupting anything, getting juked at the line of scrimmage, shitty tackling, etc... 52 has to be an upgrade. It can not be worse!!!!

I could live with Welter being mediocre in talent if he hustled and busted his arse to get to the ball, but on many plays he stops once someone gets to the ball carrier. And it's not just him there are others doing the same thing, but he's clearly the least talented guy on the field so you have to make up for that in hustle and intelligence. Whether he's bringing intelligence to the D I don't know. But it seems to me that he isn't hungry for a tackle. Kwon and Freak run to the ball no matter where it is. It doesn't matter if someone else gets there you gotta get to the ball because you never know what could happen. The more Tigers we have around the ball the better we look and the better the D will perform. Until that starts happening on an every down basis we are going to keep giving up ten to 15 yard plays.

I've been screaming at him all year (as I'm sure most people have been too). Les has always honored the seniors and he's put in his dues I guess.
