There's some job openings that have been there for a while at Google and Facebook which I'm qualified for and I'm considering applying if they'd allow me to work remotely (job is already 70% travel).

I'd imagine they a bit different than most places with the application process and would appreciate any tips before I begin reworking my CV.

My old roomate is one of the head executives at google. He went to Oxford and Stanford MBA though. He loves his job

I don't have any insight to the interviews, but I do know working remotely isn't an issue at Google. We work with them fairly often and every single person I interface with works from home.

applied for and offered by google. they are a weird company - it's a fun ride during the process, but IMO you're better off with a large, traditional company in a lower cost-of-living location.
