Possibility of LSU/USC Home and Home with Orgeron or Del Rio

Both have Louisiana connections. Del Rio's daughter went to LSU. Orgeron is from the bayou. The chances of this happening are much better if one of these two takes over as USC Head Coach.

Thoughts?

There is no way in hell that USC gives Orgeron the permanent HC job.

I would love to see this, yet I would argue there is extremely little chance of it happening. I don't see USC wanting to take on an SEC Power as one of their out of conference games; at least under the current NCAA system.

If the NCAA is ultimately split into an upper tier of 64 or so teams and teams in this tier are required to play all or at least 11 of 12 games each year in this tier then there is a better chance.

It better happen before the SEC goes to a 9 game SEC schedule. After that, it's 3 sisters of the poor OOC games every year.

Well it is the University of Mississippi. I do not think he will end up with the HC job at Southern Cal, but I do think he gets another chance at a major college program. He is an excellent coach, UM is just a ridiculously difficult place to win consistently.

With 9 game schedule coming, that will be difficult to pull off. LSU has made its run against Pac 12 both home, away and neutral.

I don't think a road trip is worth it to Autzen, not after trekking to Washington and the toll it takes on your team. I don't think USC wants any part of LSU anytime soon and I don't see that as a home and home. Now, they have mentioned USC as an option in Chick Fil A Classic but that could be pretty much any sec team involved with that.

Someone posted awhile back about LSU interested in home and home with UCLA which I think would be good since LSU has never played them plus LSU could make a trip to the Rose Bowl and I think it was for a LSU home game in 2015 to offset having to play Tulane in New Orleans that same year.

I just don't understand this line of thinking. its not like they're riding in a car across country. its a plane flight. the day before. its not that big of a toll.

I would love it if Del Rio were named coach. It would ensure that USC continued to suck.

He is awful.

We play Wisconsin next year, and I thought the year after as well.
We Play Arizona state in 2015 and 2016. NC State in 2017. And then we have a home and home lined up with Oklahoma in 2018 and 2019. With the upcoming 9 game SEC schedule, one semi-tough to tough OOC game a year is enough.
