I used Endless Electronics for a PS3 YLOD repair, paid $80, which seems reasonable. I got the PS3 back, I played it for four days, maybe about 10 hours, and it crapped out again.

I sent it back to them for warranty repair and they're saying they can't fix it now.

Am I off base asking for a refund for the $80? I'm not asking for the shipping cost they paid for me to send it in under warranty, but the way I look at it, I paid $80 for a repair, not a service. The PS3 was not repaired.

I understand the likelihood of it breaking again was high, but in 4 days is absolutely ridiculous.

Oh, wise gamers of Tigerdroppings, tell me if my thinking is illogical.

I would ask. Good chance they won't care though

Ask, but step 1 after the YLOD is repaired is to save a back-up. Hope you did so.

I've heard of repairs lasting anywhere from 2 hours to 200 hundred. From what they told me there is no way to know which one it will be really.

Out of curiosity, I sent my phat into ylod repair for 100 bucks or so and during the meantime bought a slim. Never have fired the phat up again at this point. Is the Sony fix better than 3rd party?
