I am talking about guys that were either commits, or that we were in their top 2 and they chose the other school.

Off of the top of my head:
(1) Landon Collins - I think it goes without saying he would be a starter at safety
(2) Denzel Duvall - Would be a starter at MLB over Welter
(3) Torshiro Davis - Last minute defection to UT...I am sure he would be in the rotation, if not a starter
(4) Priest Willis - likely getting PT at safety, but not starting
(5) Robert Nkimdeche - don't know that we ever really had a chance with him, but we were in his top 2

Who else and what effect would they have on the current defense?

What an awful choice on his part. Texas played Iowa State last week, he could've made a name for himself in Top 10 game with National Championship ramfications. Signing decision fail on his part.

Darion Claiborne MLB from port allen that we never offered, but I doubt our staff would replace Welter with him anyway. Think he starts at aTm.

The Jackson kid that choose Bama over us looked pretty good the other night at CB. Eddie Jackson might be his name, he was from FL.

Devall

He was never coming here. He wanted to play in a 3-4 Defense.

I don't think we had much of a chance at most of these guys anyway.

You don't think Devall would start over Welter?

What a good job in hindsight to take Mickey Johnson over Chucky Hunter. Smh.

i'm not sure what you're getting at but i think it's "LSU has been missing out on guys that would make us a better defense". brilliant concept but you couldn't name one year in the last 100 years where every team in the nation couldn't say the same thing. noone signs 100% of the guys they want to; duh, it's called competition.
