Still plenty of time this year for him to step it up, but considering where he's been (with the injury bug), being a senior, and having so much potential, I thought we'd see a lot more out of him this year. Thus, far, I am disappoint.

It's time he step up, and be the player we all know he can be.

He's been the same player since he's been here I doubt it's going to change now. Not trying to be a dick but if it hasn't changed yet I doubt it will all of a sudden

, I am disappoint.
Me too.
He was one of my favorites and never met his potential.
He can't cover period.
He should be let lose to terrorize the QB.
He is a nasty hitter, let him hit people....

Look, the real issue is speed and agility, more so his speed. He has limited range and this all hurts his ability to recover. What you see is what you get. There is not much room for improvement with Loston. I wish it weren't true

He has never been great in coverage. Great run stopper. Looks a lot like Laron back there. His coverage flaws were covered up by Eric Reid

He is playing out of position. He should have been moved to linebacker two years ago. He would be a first round talent at linebacker.

He kind of reminds me of Will Herring from Auburn. Solid player who lacks that one extra step needed for tight coverage. Herring moved to OLB his last year at Auburn and has made a decent career in the NFL at OLB. I am not sure Loston has the range to play safety in the NFL. Then again, I thought the same thing about Danny McCray.

The problem with Loston is he would be a much better player with CBs that could cover, another safety that wasnt terrible and a pass rush. He has none of those, so he has to play in a way that he isnt uncomfortable.

Never underestimate to power of a pass rush. It makes the secondary's job easier. When there is pressure on the QB it creates hurried throws and defenders don't have to cover receivers a long time.

The kid is not a safety. He is a linebacker. He reminds me of ole Karnell Hatcher. Very disappointing career.

He's had several chances this year to get interceptions if he was ever looking for the ball, but he just wants to focus on putting his head down and hitting people.

UGA, ATM, UA, UF... all of them are going to pick on him. He can't cover.... and doesn't really want to.

The more disappointing part about it is that we brought more than a 4 man rush several times hoping for some pressure... and got none.
That's not a good day for Poppa.

See, I really do think the talent's there.....with Loston, I always felt like his injury situation never got him in that rhythm, so to speak. I always felt like his never living up to the hype had more to do with injury/incontinuity, and not lack of talent. I'm not really a "star gazer", but this kid was highly coveted/can't miss. I just thought that once he was "the man" back there, the lights would come on for him.

Oh well. Like many have said, it's unfair to hang this on him, what with the lack of d line play, etc.

Someone started a thread like yesterday maybe talking about the "lack of Jimmies and Joes" on defense. I definitely think that's us right now, especially comparably so. I've GOT to think Chavis is a great coach, considering where our defenses have been with him. Of course, I know you could say "shite man, they've been filled with first round nfl talent - who couldn't have a great d.

That points well taken. I think he'll figure out though he doesn't have the Jimmies and Joes, and do more with what he does have. Just my two cents.

Yeah, Shep and Loston both full of fail, but i gotta blame the coaches on that to some extent.
