Do any of you maintain a savings account with either of AMEX or Discover? If so would you recommend them to a friend. Questions I have with online banking primarily center around:
Is your money easily accessible?
Have fees been any issue to date with said bank?

I have a discover savings. No problems. Money is accessible, but it takes a couple of business days to transfer into a checking account.

I have the capital one 360 savings online checking and savings accounts. Right now its giving .75% and its free. I have a debit card and can get $1,000 a day at an ATM if needed. I still have a local checking account that is free. This account is for cash that I may have that I want to deposit. They have an app, it lets you know about every transaction if you wanted. Online bill pay is free also. You get 50 free starter checks, if you use bill pay you probably won't use paper checks that often.

I like it so far.

I use the Capital One 360 Savings. Very easy to use, transfers to local bank checking within 3 days. Photo check deposit works great. No complaints here.

Capital One's rate I certainly am comfortable with. I have a credit card with them and their web interface is painful to deal with. That is one of my particular interests in Discover. Does Capital One's checking pay interest?

Yes. I have "High Yield Interest Checking" from CapOne along with CapOne360 (old ING) savings. The checking interest rate is pretty low, like .4%. Both are free, easily accessible. I have no complaints from either.
