That Booty play still pisses me off. 2 guys to throw to, one defender and half an endzone and he throws it to the one place we have no chance to catch it

The LSU/Georgia series has been a hell of a series. So many good moments on either side. I expect nothing less on Saturday. Great job with the GIFs and links Choppa.

He didn't make the wrong read, just didn't loft it enough. There are 2 guys "open" over on that left side, and he correctly chose to throw it to the farthest guy. Our LB was kind of hidden behind the LOS in a mass of bodies, so when Booty threw it his guy was wide slap open. It just so happened that our LB jumped as high as he ever has in his life and batted it down.

I also noticed in that 1987 game in Athens we had yard markings on the field every 5 yards. I know that's kind of LSU's "thing", when did yall start? I wonder if UGA (and other schools I'm sure) liked it and did it for a while, then changed their mind and went back to every 10.

LSU has had them since at least the early 70s. See this video from the 1971 Notre Dame game: Hamilton TD

As to Booty's pass, that was the kind of year we had in 1999.

that was my first trip to athens.

my 2nd was the arse raping the 04 team took. i swear if that happened to miles, he'd be regarded as the worst football coach in history.

in spite of those two games, athens is my favorite away game destination and i'm bummed i haven't been back since.

I hate hate hate that play, but I've gotta give huge props to Mauck for standing in there to throw it. The hellbeast Odell Thurman came in free and had a clean shot on Mauck, and he nailed him too. He showed a lot of poise getting that ball off.

had some great games last decade+ plenty of heartbreak to go around. Best away game atmosphere IMO.

I forgot how great that Scott run in 09 was. He bounced off of a great hit at the line of scrimmage.

there's so many of them it probably slows everyone's computer to a crawl or crashes them, rendering them unable to respond.
