Another Obamacare Delay: Online Enrollment for Small Business Exchanges

LINK

quote:

The Obama administration will delay online Obamacare enrollment for small businesses in federally operated healthcare exchanges until Nov. 1, marking a one-month delay in the roll-out, an administration official said on Thursday.

The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that small businesses that want to purchase healthcare coverage for their employers would still be able to enroll beginning Oct. 1 through paper applications, in-person meetings or over the phone to a federal call center.

Sounds like the CBO cost estimates of ACA should go down now

Technically, it seems that they can still apply, they just can't apply on the Internet.

Link opens weird....

So is it due to the security issues that they knew were coming?

What constitutional right do they have to alter the "Law of the land"?

What do you think is the tougher to implement...an insurance exchange, or an automated application process?

This is a microcosm of the failure of government and the impossibility of government being able to effectively or efficiently running the healthcare system.

That should be the main issue that antiACA people point to. Our government is incapable of running an efficient program. It may "save" money now. But it will be a money pit.

Like I said, if this is the issue surrounding security of the exchange, this was brought up a month ago and it was said that they would make a determination at the last min whether it was ready to go.

So you know at least a month in advance that you are going to be cutting it close on one of the BIGGEST parts of the legislation and you don't put in extra work, pull over nighters, bring more hands on deck to assure a timely launch?

How much do you want to bet that some of the employees working on the project that missed its legal deadline will receive performance bonuses despite the failure?
