Watched Over The Top with my 8 year old recently. Although before I watched this movie I'd lay down in traffic for my son, this movie strengthened our bond even more.

Anything else you got?

As a kid the best movies I remember watching with my dad were the Stars Wars Original Trilogy, Jurassic Park, and the Indiana Jones Trilogy.

The Godfather
A Bronx Tale

But those aren't appropriate for 8 year olds.

Maybe Liar Liar

Movies that I watched with my Dad were The Godfather and Kelly's Heroes. He wasn't a huge movie guy, but those were ones he liked. Obviously, you might want to wait until he's a little older, in particular for The Godfather.

Big Fish
Indiana Jones-The Last Crusade
Legends of the Fall (it gets a lot of hate here and probably not appropriate for your son but I like it)

My dad always likes to cite Field of Dreams when I am too busy to do something with him.

I just like watching movies with my Dad. Doesnt really matter what it is.

I like to think my Dad is. He legitimately could be the coolest guy on the planet. He has better stories than the fake ones "the most interesting man on the planet" commercial guy tells.
