How early do I need to get there to be able to park close enough that we aren't tailgating by ourselves?

And what is the open container policy? Thanks.

Technically not allowed to have glass, but it isn't enforced. Other than that, anything goes.

Pretty much anywhere you can park, there will be people tailgating. If you are by yourself, then just walk around and experience the environment and let LSU show you how tail gating is really done.

Yea it is just two of us so I think it might be more fun to walk around and just drink and experience it all. Just didn't want an open container to ruin the day.

No, Gainesville PD will not be there so you can carry your drink around.

It's pretty loose for tailgates. People walk with drinks in their hand from tailgate to tailgate. Just don't advertise it and be a drunken a-hole about it right in front of the cops and you'll be ok

A lot different than UF tailgates, huh?

Not as obnoxious as the one in Gainesville. I have never seen cops so eager to write an open container ticket in my life.

what they said. for us it's more like:
"And what is an open container policy?"

Just please pick up your trash!! not that I care, tired of seeing threads on it.

It's actually 100% legal to have open containers and canned beer on campus on football Saturdays, FWIW.

Yea. Driving to NOLA Thursday afternoon and staying in NOLA all weekend, obviously except game day.

It's one of our only big home games this year. You will have to get there before 8 am to get a remotely decent parking spot.

And at open container. Don't get in a fight or make an arse of yourself and you'll be fine. If you are under 21 drink from a cup and pour it out if some guy makes a beeline for you. I am 21 and haven't been stopped once in my 3+ years as a student and I am way too bold with my drinks on gameday.

I'd recommend one of those disposable insulated cardboard "ice chests" so you can just toss it come game time. Liquor is easier though if you aren't tailgating in one spot

Yea liquor will be best I think. It'd be fine to carry around a handle? Or should I pour that into something else.
