Tampa fricked themselves over repeatedly with penalties and undisciplined football. Also, towards the second half they were gashing the frick out of us in the run game. I know we are overun with injuries on that side of the ball right now, just hope we get healthy sooner than later because this offense is not clicking at all. We are fortunate to be in the position we are in right now. Payton needs to right this ship and wake the offensive side of the ball the frick up (specifically the O-line). Don't get me wrong, I'm optimistic, just cautiously concerned. We need a couple of quality, solid dominating performances to get that mojo going. The bucs kicked our arse yesterday. Plain and simple. They're just an unstable, undisciplined franchise.

Bend dont break D. That's what we'll see this season. And we're getting some turnovers which is great. I agree we looked iffy in run stop sometimes and there was a TD called back for penalty. But right now we're statistically sound and middle of the pack at worst. If the offense starts clicking we'll be on fire.

In the end, the only penalties that fricked tampa were the illegal shift and the helmet to helmet...none of the other penalties had any bearing on the game

Personally, I think we outplayed the shite out of them. We scored every point on the board

That defense is fricking nasty and I'm glad we got out of there with a win because while they won't win alot of games, that team is going to be the "oh I cannot believe we lost that one" game for some good teams

9ers, seahawks, falconsx2, they are going to hurt some good teams. next time we get them, we're in the dome and the offense will undoubtedly be clicking by then...those are the types of games I like to see the saints win, and those are the types of wins that in the end vault you to the #1 seed.

Last season: 28.4 ppg
This season: 15.5 ppg

That's all I care about

Not to mention 6 of those points came off an INT return

I don't expect to hold team to 15 over the course of the entire season, but if the D can keep it ~ 20 that's incredible improvement, and we no one expects the offense to struggle as much the whole year

With all our injuries the D played damn good!! Even if you take back all the TB penalties, the D still played really good man.

I know what you mean. The d-line was thin going in, and Johnson going out made it worse. It started to show in the run game, and guys were tired and had a hard time generating a pass rush towards the end. They held up when we really needed them though.

We got lucky on that roughing the passer on Brees where he got destroyed and fumbled. Don't forget that one either. But hey, I'll take the lucky breaks all day every day and twice on Sunday.

Jenkins is still a little raw at DT, and opponents will take advantage of him until he gets a few games under his belt. D is doing remarkable considering the injuries and the new system.

I think we held freeman to 9 completions?
Would like to have seen a better performance vs the run but not having a big lead kept their running game in play.
Not a pretty 2-0 at all but 2-0 in Div is awesome.
Last year it took until oct 21st to get our second win.
Get the win on the road get out get healthy and get better!

probably not as pissed as we were when we learned we had to forfeit an entire season so the NFL could get some good publicity as it pertains to a lawsuit that they settled anyway.

Also the Bucs defense played really well until that last drive.

meh. Late in a sloppy rain fest game where the offense was not moving the ball and the defense had been out on the field a whole bunch. Throw in the fact that were playing single deep in a few positions.

when we get healthy we should be dangerous with the depth were building while these guys are out.

I look for this team to really pick it up around mid season.

I think the Saints are starting to finally realize that good things happen when you actually tackle the ball carrier the first time and don't allow those extra yards.

The defense has carried us to 2-0 and I couldn't be happier as eventually the offense will really get it rolling.

It was strange, they would get 1 big play and then the D would shut them down the next 3. It was like that all game, except for Tampa's TD drive and their final drive.
