Realistically, who are the targets and who are the hires?

Why do people constantly get this name wrong? Just curious. Is "Kiffen" some sort of common last name?

I hope we hire someone who can coach a fricking defense. If we hire another CEO-type coach, then I will probably boycott Texas football

David Shaw should be no. 1

How much does he make?

there's no doubt they'll go after David Shaw, and they can offer more than Stanford can. The question is, would Shaw take the job? He's always said Stanford is his dream job.

Shaw is stanford through and through...played there, dad coached there, etc

He isn't going anywhere

Top TX target would be to make saban say no to open checkbook and then not sure after that....I honestly think urban meyer...dude has zero loyalty

Don't sleep on jim tressel or chad morris

If Briles wasn't already 57 he'd be up there. Saban ain't happening, they should put feelers out for Sumlin, but that's not happening either

I think Texas has three candidates that are great candidates and they wouldn't have to try too hard to convince them. Sumlin, Briles, and Morris should be on the top of the list. But they better have an open check book for a great D coordinator.

I hope Major falls up though, for the sake of my laughter.

Jim Mora Jr should get interest, though not sure if he's a big enough name being a TX outsider

and I'm sure they will talk with petersen from Boise but I don't think he would get it done at UT.

Other names to consider...

Sark
Obrien
Miami Coach, can't remember name
Smart
Gundy
Muschamp

Don't laugh too hard, but jason garrett might be looking for a job after this season as well
