Landry #80 is one of the best ever to wear the LSU uniform. He is not the best, but he belongs in the conversation. I have been going to LSU games since 1967. I was their when Archie Manning wore his cast. I was there for the Earthquake game. I have seen many fantastic receivers but none are as exciting as Landry. Landry could be on the kickoff team to lower the boom, could be delivering pancake blocks in support of our rushing game, could be outmuscling cornerbacks and more importantly, he hustles on every play and he is someone that you can trust with the BIG catch. I just hope that he gets his share of touches as we go on to win the SEC.

I agree with this topic 100%. I thought he had potential when he got here, but he's proven to be even better than I imagined. The rest of this season should be special for him.

This is the first year I've seen in awhile that the wideouts can actually get open and seperation but also we have a confident QB.

I cannot imagine if this WR group had a TT or a RR. It would be frankly stupid.

I agree he is the most unselfish LSU player we have had, he may end up being the best #80 we have had.

This is why LSU needs a competent QB, these guys are waiting to play for LSU and we resorted to running against 11 man fronts.

It's mind boggling

Was it Michael Irvin that made the Jerry Rice comparison after seeing him at a camp? Everyone just kind of cringed a little at Irvin's apparent brain damage but the absurdly strong hands do invite the comparison.

I think it was Michael Irvin who made that comparison. But Landry is more, he is the ultimate team player.

I have been saying the same thing since last season. He brings a complete package to the table for the tigers, but his greatest assets are his hands. Throw it anywhere in his vicinity and he goes get it. Landry = ball skills personified.

New Nickname:

Hands Landry #80

You heard it here first!

Landry is legit, no doubt about it.

OBJ is no slouch though, he's right there at that level when he's hot he catches everything.

Hands? Juice? Beast? These all work. And you are right, it was Deion Sanders who compared him to Jerry Rice.

There are only a hand full of qbs that are elite in any given year. We were playing to our strengths just like we are this year. Les Miles continues to win despite what you think of him.

Landry certainly has the skills to be the best receiver LSU has ever seen. You might want to see how this season plays out for him before anointing him.
