Yamaha Outboard electrical issues

I have a Yamaha 150 2 stroke, Fished today about mid morning I went to move and had nothing, no tilt, ignition, etc. Disconnected the battery and let it sit for a minute then re-connected and she fired right up. She died on me every time I stopped for the rest of the day, and every time I disconnected she fired right back up.
Recently replaced my starting solenoid, My gut is telling me its another solenoid, anyone else experience anything similar in the past?
And no, I dont want to replace with a merc.

My guess would be a bad, or corroded cable. If the trim don't work, it's not the starter solenoid.

Thought the same on corrosion but connection at the battery is clean. I am going to trace the wire back and check any other terminals.
Anyone else have any ideas?
TIA

Well shite. That was my only suggestion.
BS aside though, since you're loosing all power it's probably just a bad connection at the battery. Put new terminals on the leads, clean the battery posts with a wire brush, and go from there.
Always start simple.

Figured it was coming.
Going to stop and pickup new terminals on way home today and change them out then go from there.

There should be a inline fuse. Not sure, but check if there is one and clean contacts.

True and never checked it when I had some electrical issues. After pulling most of my hair out, brought it in to have it checked and wasn't 20 miles away when guy called to tell me perko was the problem.

I always check compression first.
Electrical boat problems should start with checking the Perko switch first. LINK

I actually dont have a switch, motor is hooked directly to battery. Going to start with changing terminal connections and go from there.

not good.
It needs a perko switch if you dont have one.
It will save you many headaches and batteries in the long run.
When you change the batt ends cut a few inches of and see if the wire is green or discolored,if its not shiny brass colored,I would replace cables.

Been wanting to add one, but have just been disconnecting the battery after i use it every time so serves the same purpose. Now if they guy who owner her before me did the same I doubt it. Will check cables tonight.

Changed out terminal connections, cut about 6-8" off ends and crimped on new terminals. So far so good, fired her up a couple times over the course of the evening and no problems yet so will keep my fingers crossed that was the issue.
Went ahead and added a running light on top of my cowling while I was at it so dont have to fight the light pole every morning while I was at it as well.
