quote:

Brown, who was named Gatorade's Texas Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year as a junior last season, doesn't just want to make it to the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. That just wouldn't be enough.

"My ultimate goal is to win the Olympics," Brown said. "I don't think I'll stop until I win the Olympics. If I go to the Olympics, that's all fine but if I don't win, I'll be training for the next three years so I can make the next one."

quote:

"First and foremost, I have to be able to come in January and run track," Brown said when asked what was the most important thing he was looking for in a school. "That's what I want to do – come in in January and run track and not have to worry about missing out on anything in football because I know I can go to meetings and things like that.

"If that's not possible, I couldn't go to that school... And if a school has a plan for me to get to Rio in 2014, then that definitely boosts them up my list. But if they can just get me ready for the NCAA (championships) then that's fine, also."

Brown said that he is going to wait until after the football season to make his announcement but that the exact timing will depend on when he makes his official visits.

He isn't sure if he'll take the officials during or after the season at this point.

quote:

There were some issues with Bealoved becoming eligible at first, but that was since been taken care of and she is good to go. Tony Brown said that it was all just a misunderstanding and that her eligibility coming in question had more to do with a paperwork snafu on the family's end than anything else.

quote:

"I love my sister and that would be a good deal, but that's not going to be my main focus," Brown said. "I've been with her my whole life so I don't need to spend any more time with her. But that would be a good deal if we were at the same spot."

Man I love Tony but I am starting to get the Xavier Carter feeling. It seems like Tony likes track more than football. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I just remember what happened with Xavier.

As long as he's a better football player than Xavier, then I don't care.

Yea, It's definitely starting to seem that way. He hasn't even mentioned pro ball.

what does he run?

and about the whole track over football thing, I think if he gets to Rio he would maybe focus on football after and try to make some serious paper.

But who knows. If he balls and sees the dollar signs maybe he stops track. I just want him at LSU. Track or football dont care. just want him to be a Tiger

110 hurdles. I think his personal best is a 13.34. Ran a 13.47 recently at Pan Ams where he won Silver, winning time was 13.42 at that event.

A&M rose to power in track and field rapidly after Skip Bertman's inept handling of previous LSU T&F coach Pat Henry. Letting a coach who had won 27 national championships get away is beyond comprehension. As I understand it, Bertman had just given Sabin millions but wouldn't give Henry a very small raise in salary. Many posters on here don't think T & F is important but it is. I am very concerned that recruits such Brown and Noll will look at A&M as THE powerhouse in T&F, a title that used to be more befitting to LSU.

I think it was awesome to have the winningest track coach in history at our school. True, I didn't watch T&F, but I liked having the best team in the country and to let him get away is beyond me. And to rub it in Skip's face, he has continued winning national titles there at our expense.
