Are we getting any October Snapper Season? I read we were "over quota"

Not sure if they totally shut it down or not.

Just got word that Roy Crabtree and the No More Fishing Service (NMFS) are using their voodoo math and fatally flawed data to cut the supplemental fall Gulf red snapper season to only 14 days.
Oct. 1 through 14.

The economic implications are astounding.

Louisiana just pulled out of the NMFS flawed data collection system. Do you need to wonder why? The LA fisheries managers know that NMFS/NOAA fisheries management is horrible. They have joined Texas, California, Oregon and Washington in telling NMFS to hit the road.

Prepare to express your outrage and demand a solution. The time is very near for us to take control and get rid of the culprits who have ruined our recreational fishing while collecting fat paychecks.

Game on....

I read on one of the initial releases, he said something to the effect that he knows we (recs) went over our TAC but he's giving us the 14 days anyway. WTF?

because they know the numbers are bogus and the species is way over populated.

this has gotten so political that there is no turning back for these folks.

they simply don't want us rec fishing and/or they want more control over our lives.

Isn't this partly because of the headboat assholes in Florida griping?

I shot one of the larger fish in that school (far from the biggest)... weighed out on a certified scale at 17.5lbs

Right on......thanks guys......planning a long fishing weekend on the 5th. Will be watching the weather, but, watching a LSU away game at the Camp is fun in itself.
