Yeah, it's down 5 1/2% today, fish.

Wasn't it like 22 1/4 back in late June?

Yes, but works itself up over and over. Also pays .05 a month.

Oh well. Really though it would turn around today. Still holding the shares. It happens and I might hold them for a month or two.

I don't dabble in penny shares but I had someone get in my ear about exmcq, a greek shipping company that filed BK 2 months ago. Had a little cash sitting in my account and bought up 6300 shares yesterday @ .10. Up to .19 today. Probably gonna ride it up for a while and see if I can get close to 10x.

This is what I did for those 500 shares of Gold Corp. I sold 5 options for Jan/14 at a strike price of $27(in the money). Got paid $2.34 a share = $1,170. Also in that time period and if GG pays the monthly div of .05, I will gain another $125. Then also I will be paid the difference of what I paid for the stock which is another $470. Total + to $1765. Not bad of a return on $13000 for 5 months.

Forgot one thing. If the options drop real low from now to Next Jan, I will go in and buy options back and hope for a up swing. I done that a few times to make some easy money.

I would love to have the guts to do this. If I could make $300 a day trading, I would quit my job tomorrow. Where to start?

This for sure. Day trading is almost like going to a casino. It is NOT for the weak hearted. I had lost a few grand a couple times on a trade.

As I have shared several times on here, after 15 years of day trading I have discovered the secret of having one million dollars by day trading.

First, you start with two million dollars.....

Sage advice. I am curious though, as I watch the stock market, see things moving up and down. How about a stock like Apple or Google, it likely will go up or down a few dollars every day.
I'm sure there are $10 stocks that move 20-30 cents a day. Where do you look?

I have several watch lists that I follow. Each list has about 20 stocks on it.

I have discovered that I am VERY good at timing when to buy a day trade stock.

But I absolutely suck at knowing when to sell it. The surest way for a stock to go up is for me to sell it in a day trade. Truff....

Start by looking at big name companies. Read up on just a couple of them. You need to get to know what is going on with said company way before buying any stock in one. Also know that an avg share trade is around 5 million shares a day. No less.

Stay out of tech for day trading. I lost way to much money and learn the hard way.

I only trade about 10 different companies. I might go a couple weeks without making a trade. Hell, I'm retired. Now when I make a trade, I don't leave the computer from 6am till 8pm that night unless I'm in and then out for the day. I had went in/out on the same stock 5-6 times in one day many times. When trading, it is more then a full time job.

Greed is the killer for most day traders. It has burnt me a few times.

Are initial public offerings no good for day trades?

I would never touch something like that. Way to many unknowns. A sure way to loose ones arse quick.

I flipped FB on Day 1 and made a few pennies. There is a lot of risk on an IPO, IMO, for day traders.

Exhibit A, huh? Share price now, $45.

Anybody just notice that spike in the market?
