Well the last film he wrote/directed (Children of Men) was the best film of the decade, so he gets the benefit of the doubt from me.

What are you laughing about?

Children of Men is certainly one of the best films of the past 10 years. Its a brilliant film.

Yeah, it's really strange the hatred for both of them.

I don't dislike Clooney. He's a clown, but I don't dislike him as an actor. I really would give SB a kick in the count, if I could. I find her deplorable.

Alex Baldwin is a douche but he makes awesome movies.

That makes Alec much different than SB. He's an awesome actor. He's the best host ever on SNL. His 5 minutes on Glegarry Glenross are better than SB's entire career.

ETA: She's not a good actress, she's not hot, so the better question would be, why does anyone like her at all?

At least the critics have SEEN the movie.
The OP is talking about the trailer.

This big time. Plus critics are some of the most useless human beings on the planet. Who gives a shite what they think? If you watch a trailer and you think it looks good then go see the movie. If you think it looks like shite then don't. Simple. Go form your own opinions and not base it on what a bunch of dick suckers think.

First of all, these statements here are, themselves, debatable. But that's not what THRILLHO wrote. THRILLHO wrote that it was
quote:

the best film of the decade
which, frankly, it isn't. It's a good movie, but it's not the best movie of the last decade.

It may be the best post-apocalyptic, science fiction movie of the last decade, but even that is debatable when you consider movies like the Road, District 9, and I Am Legend. Even to some extent Sunshine, though that could be differentiated by being principally set in space.

All that to say this: Children of Men is not the best film of the last decade.

It really isn't head and shoulders better than I Am Legend. It is very good, and I, personally, would rank it higher than I Am Legend, but it's not a clear cut choice by any stretch. If you didn't like I Am Legend, you're letting your hatred for Will Smith color your perceptions.

God damn y'all are putting Children of Men on a pedestal. I admit I've only seen it once, but that was enough to know it was a good, even very good movie, not the next Blade Runner. Jesus.

You are out of your fricking mind.

I Am Legend is a very flawed, Will Smith film that lightened up the source material and turned it into an action film. It is deeply flawed, but does have some great moments.

Children of Men is an infinitely better film, especially on a pure "directing" level. The long shots alone make it on an entirely different level.

Highly doubtful. Oliver Stone is a prime example of how critics can lift a man up to unbelievable heights before tearing him down into the seventh level of Hell.

This would make sense, if I hated Will Smith.

I don't dislike I am Legend, either, nor do I like it.

I'm very neutral on this flick.

It can be argued that CoM is not the best film of the decade.

It cannot be argued that CoM is among the best cinematographic efforts ever.

Such an awesome movie.

Put me in the hating Sandra Bullock camp. I'll still see it.
