Cam's stock has to be out the roof this morning and it will only get higher as the season progresses.

Texas and USC will have coaching vacancies by season's end. He will also get calls from the NFL as an OC and quite possibly HC.

How long does he stay here?

very doubtful

wouldn't be a top candidate for either of these jobs.

I don't think LSU let's him walk that easily after seeing this huge of a turnaround after just one season.

As optimistic as I am now, I'd still weight to see how everything averages out through the course of the season.

Long enough to give Frank all his knowledge. I think we can reasonably expect 3 years....tops.

Who knows...

He has been a NFL headman, and a college headman...

It could just be that he wants to stay at one place for a while, and that place is LSU.

Some have suspected on this board that he will replace Miles when Miles is done (some say soon enough)

I suspect he won't jump ship after one year anyway

He's still relatively young to be settled in any one place for a major coach. Depends on how much fire he has in his belly. He may not want another HC job after the Miami disaster. Then again, he may want a second go at it for just that reason.

The wild card is his personal friendship with Les. Maybe as long as Les is here, we have a good chance of keeping him.

This season + 2 more at a minimum. then maybe more.

here's to hoping he's like Chavis and is happy being a general on Les's staff and stays much longer (long enough to get a couple of recruiting cycles)

Cam decided to return to college coaching because he wanted to, not because he could not be an OC for another team in the NFL. After 13 years as an successfull OC, he likely welcomed that change of scenery for different reasons. He did not come he to establish some type of credibility, his repuation as an OC/QB coach is already well known an established. Although there is a lot involved with college football, it is less than dealing with the nfl. Don't see him leaving anytime soon.

We will match the money that's not the problem and I like our chances of him staying with the potential the program has over the next 5 years! Anytime theres success you have to worry about it but we will never lose to another school over money. If he takes off, id be surprised but if the NFL is his true love that's just something we cant control.

After Ole Miss destroys Texas and scores 40pts, Mack will fire Diaz rather than take any more heat. My prediction.

They, the UTx admin and boosters, don't see that Mack is doing a bad job. His underlings have to be the problem.

well, he did try to get the Jets OC job before taking ours. I think he could leave, even as soon as this offseason, but I think he gives Les at least another deal. no big deal whenever he does, I'm just enjoying the ride.

Why would anyone consider him as a HC? He has a proven record of a horrible HC in the NFL and college.

He will at least stay his 3 year contract....however, after that it would be annoying to see him at another sec school.

I don't think that he was horrible at IU, it's that it was IU and he needed better players, particularly on D. they used to get some noon ESPN (Pam Ward!) games, and I'd watch em to check out Randle El. he had teams that could score by and large, but couldn't stop anybody. it's like Tepper was his DC.
