Champagne for mimosas

What's a good champagne to get to make mimosas with? Any recommendations on the OJ?

How much would a bottle of that run? I've never made my own. Would the appropriate mixture be 50/50 on the OJ and champagne?

I don´t think it matters at all, given that you´re killing it with orange juice.

Freixenet is good for the price. About 10 bucks a bottle and definitely better than Korbel.

You're over-thinking this. Just buy a cheap bottle of champagne and, fill a glass almost to the top and drop a splash of whatever OJ you have in there.

For the money, a good Spanish cava works. Why in the world would anyone use real champagne to throw orange juice inside is beyond me. Prosecco works fine as well, but cava is made in the traditional method like champagne. This means it will have more of those yeasty tones rather than the fruit forward style of tank method wines from Italy.

And as far as oj goes, fresh squeezed is the best option. However I prefer packaged products that are close to that if possible with a touch of pulp. My personal mix preference is slightly more bubbles than oj (65/35 maybe)

This is my go to. But my mimosa consists of a teaspoon of OJ.. Or if I have it, a squeezed orange half.

For straight champagne, I'm a Chandon girl.

I use simply orange. Never thought to just squeeze a real one because you use so little.

I prefer to pour Chandon with just a splash of Minute Maid.

I leave the orange pieces in it too so its pretty

(You'll have to excuse the fact that photo bucket app sucks and won't save crops)

Here's a good champagne that comes in a mini can with a straw pack..
Sucker was $10/piece at the bar though.
