We were at the game and could not tell what happened. Sorry if this has been already been discussed.

Helmet came off and they wanted to run off 10 seconds, but the helmet was removed in the course of play by a DLman.

A player's helmet came off, and by rule it's a 10 second run off, which should have ended the half.
But the refs reversed the decision when it was known that the reason the helmet came off was to get a better look at the tit on the jumbotron.
The refs understood, and decided not to penalize him and let LSU kick the field goal.

People are fricking stupid, that's what happened.

They ran the clock off because they thought L. Collins threw his helmet off during the play before the FG.
There's a 10 second runoff for an unsportsmanlike penalty.
Officials later said it was came off during the course of the play. No penalty in the end.

Helmet came off and normally is a 10 second run off if its the reason for clock stoppage and under 1 minute left. Since we had an incomplete pass on the play, the helmet coming off didn't stop the clock, the incomplete pass did. so no run off...

Why would it be a 10 second runoff after an incomplete pass?

Why would it be a 10 second runoff after an incomplete pass?
And yes, you are correct. That is the real reason they reversed their call. Because it was incomplete.

It wouldn't. They ruled incorrectly initially then had to change it. There would be a runoff if the clock was running and the helmet removal was the reason for stoppage.

That last minute of the half was a total cluster$&@!, between LSU's game mgmt. and the refs.

i was still in complete state of mind frick after a delay of game out of timeout followed by a false start then that happened.

It wouldn't be. If it's voluntarily removed the clock has to be stopped, that's why it's a 10 second runoff. Ssame with injuries, a team with no timeouts could use that essentially to leverage a clock stoppage.

We ran play on second down, called timout, went for endzone on 3rd down, didnt get it, 5 seconds left, kick field goal. Sounds pretty typical to me.

Why would a defensive player pulling an offensive players helmet off cause a 10 second run off?

Most of them are looking for anything to shite on. They want us to win 50 to 0 every game so they can quit watching at halftime

Les Miles corrected the brain dead officials, and our brain dead fans blamed Miles for clock management issues. That's what happened.
