Vilma could be designated to the IR but Eligible to come back player...but I think they will save that.

Right I posted that in the 53 prediction thread. Both Vilma and Morgan are the best candidates for that.

Problem is, you have to carry the player through Sept 4 before you can put them on IR designated to return which means you have to cut another player for 4 days and hope no one picks them up.

It's risk/reward. Unless Galette is more serious than they are letting on, our options for it are Morgan and Vilma and given the nature of the injuries and the other players at those positions, I'd rather use it on Vilma.

But honestly I might rather us not use it at all. Why risk losing a good depth/special teams player if you think Vilma is that banged up.

If Vilma is, in fact, out that long, they will just IR him. The young guys are playing too well to risk losing, say ,a Riddick to another team when he can contribute on D (maybe not right away) and special teams.

Yeah Reddick was one of the guys that came to mind who we could potentially lose if we tried this. I think with Lofton, Humber, and Hawthorne we can afford to let the rookie be the 4th guy in the rotation and let him continue to contribute on special teams.
