I'm starting to think that crawfish might be my favorite food.

When I used to buy for my place, I bought California crawfish from a local guy that hauled them weekly from California. I'll have to dig up his name.

I'm kinda Jazzed about going "crawfishing" as well as boiling them up. I haven't been crawfishin' since I was a kid.

Adults remember what they did as children and yearn to be having that much fun. I could easily run a line of a few traps and have a blast and make some dinero in the basin.

Yolo County? I always see lots of rice fields near the Sac airport.

How do you catch them if the water is out of the field? Do they come out with the flow? He should be harvesting the rice soon, eh?

Yes, yolo county and up hwy 99. The crawfish come out with the flow and are pretty easy to catch.

I flipped my lid once I discovered them in Oregon. Have quite a bit and they don't taste much different than LA Crawfish.

Yes, I guess where there's rice fields, there's crawfish! I'm very happy and can't wait to boil 'me up!

I boiled quite a few of them. I was told they are our crawfish brought over there. I have no idea how true that is but I'm pretty sure that is what my supplier told me. To me they look and taste like our farmed crawfish. Only problem I had with them was that there was usually 3-5lbs+ of deads due to the long haul to get them here.

My uncle lived in Cali my entire life. We would visit every other year and I remember us renting a house boat in the mid 80's and eating crawfish in the Delta. The native crawfish were a different in both shape and taste...
