Buck this one's for you - OBer's feel free to ask and questions and I will attempt to keep a summary in the OP.
1. Buck, based on your critical evaluation of bapple's self defense handgun videos on Youtube what would you recommend for a intermediate skill level handgunner who looks to begin to concealed carry? TIA
2. Buck, in as much detail as you possibly can, please list your qualifications and firearms experience which gives you such a depth of knowledge on the subject. Please be as specific as you can.

You've been strutting around, setting us heathens straight (at the behest of the "silent majority" no less) and I think it's about time we get an idea of who we're dealing with.

1. Buck, based on your critical evaluation of bapple's self defense handgun videos on Youtube what would you recommend for a intermediate skill level handgunner who looks to begin to concealed carry? TIA
I never claimed to evaluate Bapple’s self defense handgun “videos”. I did evaluate ONE of his self defense videos, and unless he was suggesting carrying a shotgun as concealed carry, I was not criticizing his concealed carry opinion. My exact words that you are referring to were, “For instance, you have a video giving advice on self defense guns. You literally have FOUR guns in that video. Three of them are just different caliber handguns.” The other was a shotgun.
As to this one self defense gun video from Bapple that I referred to, here is my response:
If I were to make a video showing different self defense firearm options, I would have shown a wide range of firearms. I would have definitely included a revolver for the simple reason that no handgun with multiple rounds is more reliable or easier to use. To have a video on self defense guns for beginners and not include something like this is foolish. Lets face it, most women are not as enthusiastic about guns as men are and will not practice as much. Every woman I know is like this and after introducing them to a 38 revolver, that is what they seem the most comfortable with. That is what is most important, especially when a stressful situation arises. I would have also included a carbine like an AR15 or mini-14, a lever action in a pistol caliber and something like a Winchester 94 in 30-30. Some people live in rural areas where these are viable options that could be very useful in a defensive roll.
In the spirit of entertainment I will answer your concealed carry question though. As far as a concealed carry gun, I would recommend people carry what they feel is comfortable to them. Try out different guns. Many ranges will rent them out to you. As far as caliber, I think FBI special agent Urey W. Patrick’s report on Handgun Wounding Factors and Effectiveness (Google it) is solid information that should be read by all before deciding or giving advice. Another thing to remember, is that maybe a smaller caliber is easier for the shooter to learn on at first, but the beginner might quickly get bored with the smaller caliber and want something bigger. Maybe he is on a tight budget and can’t just run out and buy a bigger caliber, so he is stuck with the smaller caliber for the time being. With a little more time spent practicing, he could have got the bigger caliber in the first place and been set for the future. Just something to think about.

I have answered this in the past, but here it is again:
Before I dive into anything, I do my homework first. Then I learn from the experience. Sometimes they are very expensive lessons. If I don't feel like I have enough experience or knowledge to support my answers, I don't respond except with another question maybe. If someone does bring up a good point, I certainly take it into consideration. That is how I got to be where I am. I've built guns from 1911's to FAL's to G3's to Uzis to many others from the ground up. I have designed small arms operating systems that are currently in the works of being patented. Having worked as a designer and engineer, I can tell you that everything is a compromise and nothing is perfect. Other than that, you will have to know me personally to know more.

From your description, it sounds like you watched my video for first time buyers. That isn't really a "self defense" video per say and is only information pertaining to buying a firearm.

I don't own one and don't have the budget to purchase one right now.

My AR is a 20" and my kitchen table isn't large enough to fit all of that in one frame with the guns I already had on the table. This is the reason I made more than one video to encompass a lot of different topics (per constructive criticism of some OB members) rather than making them 50 minutes long like a Nutnfancy video.

For the general new gun buyer, the kinds of firearms I list are the options I feel they will typically consider with limited firearms knowledge. I simply compiled what I figured they would consider buying for a first gun and made a quick video. I upload the videos I do and then add annotations accordingly to edit. I don't do video edits and I don't have a fancy intro. Unless YouTube were to start paying me (which you need millions of views for) I don't have nearly that much time to devote to my videos. I simply give out the information as I see fit. I have also gained more handgun knowledge since that video was made and I haven't made a new one yet. It is simply a reference point.
As others have said, I make the videos for informational purposes for someone to watch and then make an informed decision his or her self. My information is not the end-all, be-all and I know it. Like I stated previously, what works for me may not work for someone else. I figured I would just elaborate on what works for me as a reference point for like-minded individuals. But everyone has preferences.
I also use my YouTube channel as a supplement to my concealed carry courses. I hear a lot of the same questions over and over ("how do you carry?" "should I have a round in the chamber?" etc.) and figured having somewhere to reference then will save on class time if I am pressed.
I appreciate your criticism and have already learned new information from you. I will always admit when I am wrong and take no pride in admitting someone else was right. I am all about the right information.

Yes. Undoubtedly a Q&A is only apropos on the OT. I want the man to see I am capable of giving him the credit he deserves for my answering the question I posed to him.

My pleasure. Sometimes I may focus more on the subject than the person reading it, so that tends to make me blunt, but it is all meant as constructive criticism we can all learn from.

I have learned a great deal from Buck and like his posts. He does seem to come across as a bit too direct sometimes but perhaps that is just his personality.
