I was down to a few options, but ultimately went with Black VZ Simonich Gunners. So here's my NH GRP Recon with its new shoes:

]I like em
Let me see if I can get a picture of my new grips on here

Edit: so my TRP comes with a set of G10s that I like but I was looking to dress it up just a hair.

Not a nighthawk but really well made 1911

Those look awesome. They kinda remind me of Wilson Combat grips.

TRP is a great pistol. I have one myself, an early model, but have never changed anything on it. It looks like this:

Yeah they are similar to the Wilson grips. I tracked down the maker if those grips and had him custom make me a set without the Wilson medallion

Tom looks like you have a hell of a collection. What would you say some big differences in the two are?

I've yet to have FTF problems with the NH, the NH craftsmanship is just on another level as everything fits together perfectly. The trigger is crisp and has a lighter pull than the TRP, but I could adjust that if I wanted I guess. Operating it is very smooth. I can cock the hammer with a single thumb while the TRP took quite a bit more effort to do so, or I would just use two hands. It's also a lot more comfortable than the TRP's aggressive 20 LPI, but still has excellent gripping properties.

Oh, and the balance is superb. Light on, light off...makes no different the pistol feels great in your hands.

True, but I still love my TRP. It's a great pistol and an even better value.

Those are very nice shoes.
I really would like to replace the Mr. Peanut ones on my Kimber Warrior, and those would fit the bill nicely.

That is a fine looking weapon. I like the black 1911s. Please don't frou frou it up like so many of 1911 owners.
