I have a P229 40 cal and love to shoot it, but it's too big for concealed carry. I was looking at the P938 9mm. Anyone have one? Or any other recs? TIA

I carry the sig P238 the 380 version of the one you are looking at. I love it no complaints and very easy to conceal.

There are several people who carry the P938 on this board who will chime in I am sure.

and love it. great little gun and the P938 is only 1" longer than the 238. I wanted the 938 but it wouldn't quite fit in my back pocket without the hammer sticking out.

You should be able to conceal that, huh? It's a compact pistol.

I guess technically the 229 is concealable, but wanted something smaller. Does the 238 have the magazine extension? That gives it a little better feel in the hand.

The 938 is a great firearm. You just have to get used to carrying in condition 1 because it's SA.

Yep there are mags with the pinky extension, I don't carry one in mine, but they do have em.

As do I. Are you stuck on a 9mm or would you consider a .380?

I looked long and hard into the 938 but from all my research it seemed to have more problems than the 238, so I opted for the 238 and should get it tomorrow

200 rounds should arrive thursday

Im not stuck on 9mm. I would consider the 380. Why is there that big of difference in the 938 and the 238?

There is enough difference for the size to jump from a pocket carry piece to an IWB piece.

Decide which carry method you like best and decide from there. You're more likely to carry it if you already have a plan once you buy it.

The size difference and caliber is what is different. They look the same. I have a 938, QueenRanch has a 238.

So men carry the 9mm and women carry the .380... got it.

I carry the Sig C3. It's large enough to get a good hold on the grips, small enough to conceal easily.

This is key...I have gone thru alot of guns I thought would make good conceal guns...and at the end of the day with 9 months of hot weather in the south and trying to wear as little as possible I have found that small pocket type pistols like the P238 are a better fit for me... Because at the end of the day if its a hassel to carry it you will leave it at home more often than not.
