Brought my 3 year old to see the movie planes yesterday. Definitely not one of their better movie's. I usually enjoy watching most of these movies with him but this one just didn't measure up to their usual standards. I think it was because I don't like most of the people they cast for the characters. Anyone else see it yet?

I haven't seen it, but it was supposed to be a straight-to-DVD release, and they decided pretty late to go ahead and release it in theaters. So it wasn't ever supposed to be one of their better efforts I don't believe.

Straight to DVD masked as a theatrical release.

There are a lot of people who did not know this going in, and the fact that people can spot the slide in quality is pretty evident that people can spot this sort of thing.

saw it Friday. Cute movie, it just didn't have the adult jokes we're use to seeing. Remember this was initially supposed to go straight to DVD.

I saw Crood's, Monster's U and Despicable Me 2 in theatres. All with kids in tow. I saw my share of kids summer movies.

This one and Turbo looked horrible.

My nephew is an air force brat and told me. "Daddy told me propeller planes can't go faster than turboprops which aren't as fast as jets. A one engine plane could never be fast like that"

Close not bad for a seven year old. Daddy forgot the 500mph+ P-51

No interest in seeing anything that Dane Cook is a part of, including this.

Saw it over the weekend. Agree that it was VERY below par for similar movies.

Yet the Phineas & Ferb movie (Across the 2nd Dimension) was aired on Disney Channel and then DVD.

Disney used to have their shite together, but they've sure found a way to frick things up.

The above, plus:

John Carter - very good movie that for the most part is greatly enjoyed by people that have actually seen it, but was killed by a shitty marketing campaign.

Lone Ranger - complete clusterfrick that will wreck Disney's bottom line for the 3rd quarter.

We took my little boy to see it. His first movie experience and he loved it. He actually stood up at the end and cheered when the race is finishing. That's all that matters to me. Its obviously a rip-off of cars but its not like its something I'm watching for myself.

My son liked it also but I don't think many adults will like it. It could have been alot better if they would have gone with a more likable cast . Why they used the voices they did blows my mind.

yeah, Dane Cook, kind of random for a kids movie. I honestly don't hate him like a lot of people do so he doesn't bother me its just weird that he would be the lead in a kids movie.

Really cool.

I don't think the average poster here is really the key demo, so it's not for me to judge. I'm sure there were some crappy movies my parents sat through for my sake when I was a kid.

It was not great, but not terrible. Along with originally being a direct to DVD movie, it was made by Disney Studios, not Pixar.
