Future Tiger Stadium Construction. Which would you rather see?

I love the thought of enclosing the north endzone one day in the future, pushing capacity north of 110k fans. However, it seems like most NFL stadiums are seeing the writing on the wall as far as attendance. There seems to be more of a push towards slightly lower capacity while expanding perks in the stadium to get the fans to attend games. Huge screens are the prime examples.

So, would you rather see Tiger Stadium eventually enclosed with a new upper deck in the north endzone, or would you like to see a huge scoreboard put in its place. I imagine a gigantic screen (one of the largest in the world) completely enclosing the north endzone. It might be pretty sweet looking if they were able to curve it to follow the shape of the stadium.

Maybe someone who is good with photoshop could come up with some examples.

Other than north end suites and club level, Tiger Stadium does not need any more regular seating...

Can't, and won't happen. (don't know why people keep asking about this.)

Sounds completely unnecessary. just remove the damn ads from the current jumbotron we have. It's plenty large enough

The Cowboys and Texans don't think it's unnecessary. Heck, one of the main things people talk about when discussing Cowboy Stadium is that big screen. Just look at Oregon; going overboard on certain things can be a big draw not only to fans but also future recruits.

To enclose the north end zone, there just isn't room outside the stadium like for the other 3 upper deck expansions. To accomplish it, they would have to create an upper deck that extends into the stadium over the existing seats, if that is even possible.

For that reason, I think a large screen would be kick arse.

In the N end zone they should put awnings over it to trap in the student section noise

Perhaps not a full deck. But I thought I had read a while back that they were considering just adding luxury suites there. There is definitely enough space to do that.

Why would any reasonable administrator want that?

The next set of sweeping changes will all have to be done internally. The bathrooms and concessions are just terrible and outdated. Would love to see some type of restaurant or something located within the stadium.

Is there some type of restaurant in the suite levels? I honestly have no idea.

But I agree, it would be pretty nice.

when you have a street, a basketball arena, a live tiger cage, newly renovated pedestrian walkways, and dozens of live oaks in the area where said expansion would be placed, they most likely can't do it...

Why? For bragging rights?

After the current expansion, they need to focus on aesthetics and amenities.

We wont need more people than what we are expanding to now so I guess the answer is scoreboard. The next step should be amenities, bathroooms and concessions areas. The difficulty is that thats not a income generator and that is why seats come first. There is no reason to go beyond 100k other than its cool. We already have the best gameday atmosphere in the country. The best architectural feature is the north endzone, I think they will be very cautious before they cover it up.

cause not many people have constructional type thought process and do not take into account of what it takes to build it and what its there like North Stadium Drive...so to answer your question...no need to be a dick about it...to anyone that doesnt know it is a good idea and even since i know its not possible it is a good idea and wish it could be done but obviously cant due to the road

you think that road is the only thing there that would stop an expansion?

Wont and cant are completely 2 different things.

There are already talks of north end suites. It certainly can be done. A oversized jumbotron is a terrible idea.

Excuse me there are other obvious reasons but this is one of them that i have heard of why they wont do it

you are correct wont and cant are different but they can be correlated to the same reason of why the dont do it
