Really interested in putting a set of reverse lights in my roof rack, was wondering if anyone had done it and how much of a pain in the arse it will be? Or if I should just take it somewhere to get it done?
for those that dont know what i am talking about.

Those links have all the info you could possibly want. What do you want to know?

Would you put a switch on it so that they don't light up the car behind you if you back out of a parking spot or in traffic?

would not be hard at all, though I would add in a switchable relay, as the lights you show drae too much wattage to just splice in with the stock reverse lights. I would also make the power input to the relay switchable so that you can disable it for when you don't want it. Hell I would even do a two way switchable relay so I could turn it on when some a-hole is driving behind me with his brights on.

Do it like this
When the switch is on the factory reverse lights side they'll come on when you're in reverse. If you want to turn them on manually just flip the switch.

What did you use to draw that diagram?

iCircuit iPhone app.
You can do all kinds of electrical/logic diagrams and it simulates them too. Pretty cool app.
