He was still starting Podolski over Reus even when Reus was the Bundesliga Player of the Year.

Reus got the nod last night over Podolski. Podolski is getting old, and he's not playing along Ballack to make him look like a super star anymore. Most Germans just don't want to accept it

Podolski is good absolutely and I'll never argue that. I respected him a lot watching him play at Koln but he's not elite like a lot of Germans make him out to be. At least not at this point in his career

I hate Gomez bc he's not capable of doing anything but popping up in the box. He sucks at passing he sucks at not being lazy and he's good at missing 15 clear cut chances a game. His scoring record is great but he profits wildly from his midfield play who basically put the ball in the net for him. He's had his days both great and piss poor. I think that it's mainly bc his good is so good and his bad is sooooo bad that people just get pissed at him.

On the CB thing everything I saw about yesterday's match had Hummels at fault for the goals (aside from Khedira's blunder)

Hummels is very inconsistent. He has a much higher ceiling that Mertesacker who is just average every game. I don't think the Hummels/Per partnership works because Hummels is prone to stepping high, making wild challenges, he needs a guy who can actually cover him. I think Benni Howedes could do a better job.

I know, Reus has become a consistent starter lately. My point is that it's taken entirely too long for it to happen.

I think it's more that everyone loves Klose and for so long it's been Klose v Gomez. Plus Gomez has a tendency to blow great chances whereas Klose is a machine.

pretty nuts to be how much the narrative has changed regarding Löw and Klinny these past few months. not their interpersonal narrative, but how they're perceived right now compared to even 6mo ago.

Not bad at all, but in reality, shitty D by Italy, and a sloooow Buffón reaction.

His comment was kind of funny he basically said he didn't give a frick but he felt bad for the keeper bc he doesn't get to play often.

I was referring to both matches.

Somehow Ilkay managed to sprain his spine in this match and is out for a few weeks.
