Some of the idiocy in this would be frustrating except that in the present administration it would not surprise me, e.g., giving a nuclear launch code because a person's life is threatened, or many persons for that matter. Save a life, throw away thousands and global security.

I'm usually good at suspending disbelief...guess you gotta have it to make the movie happen.

Agreed.
And am I correct that there's no way in hell an unauthorized plane would get that close to DC to start shooting it up?

The whole scenario that allows the White House breach is utterly absurd.

I cannot fathom any aspect of what occurred there, especially in Post 9-11 DC.

As I watch, other aspects of the movie I like overall.
But they got another fricking code by threatening someone.

He projected a poor image and failed to lead effectively.

I thought OHF was good. Sure, some of it is unbelievable to the point of ridiculous, but who cares? And yeah, obviously they'd have fighter planes in the air in a matter of minutes if a warship was flying to/over DC.

It is known that there are actual SAMs on buildings now in DC and NYC.
Even had a mobile SAM on the roof of the Postal Parking garage for the Superdome in NOLA.
Air Force ain't playing around.
Though, protocol dictates an air intercept first and Shoot down as a last resort. That we did see in OHF. The plane took out the interceptors, then was itself taken out by SAMs.

Just finished. Fun popcorn movie but good God it had some shitty scenes. Dylan McDermott's character might've been the worst written antagonist in history.
99% of the budget was spen on the cast. 1% was spent on CGI and the script.
