Do you draft one a little earlier than you would normally?

They score a ton of points, top 2 will be highest scorers in league by 100 or more points, but the position is ridiculously deep this year.

No. Why?

4 or 6 points doesn't change anything. The difference between the 4th and 12th best fantasy QBs - in addition to the unpredictability of the position after the elite guys - makes QB a position worth waiting on. . . regardless of your league's scoring settings.

If everyone in your draft goes QB crazy early, you could make up the points by getting guys that fall to you IMO.

Agreed, it just doesn't make sense to grab one early this year, unless you can get a tier 1 in the 3rd.

I drafted Rodgers in the 2nd round two years ago and he won my championship by himself. So last year I picked him in the 1st round(dumb me), and watched him run for his life.

Will I draft a QB that early this year? No. I really think I can get a Romo/Kaep/Stafford in round 5 or 6.

Now lets wait and see if I can heed my own advice if I'm sitting there in the 3rd and Manning is staring me in the face. BTW, I think Manning will throw at least 40 TDS this season. Welker is gonna force defenses to play Thomas and Decker man up. Manning will throw a party this year.

frick it. I'm drafting Manning #1.

I move the top guys (Brady, Brees, Rodgers, P. Manning) up a little.

There in lies the challenge.

joke schedule too.

QBs put up a shite load of points my system, might be alright going 1st round RB, second round tier 1 QB.

If I could Manning in the 3rd I would do it in a heartbeat

Of course. Anyone with a brain can see that.

The reason RB's are so valuable is because the variation is greater than any position. Six point td's increase the gap between the elite qb's and the decent ones. It also increases the gap between guys like Brees and RG3.

I love getting an elite qb in six point qb leagues.

If you get one in the first 2 rounds you'll have shitty RB's

Yeah if one of big 3 is there in 3rd or even late 2nd I'm probably taking him. I don't include the young qbs in the depth discussion this year save for luck. All depends how draft is going.

I would rather grab a round 1 rb and round 2 qb in those leagues.

You have to play to league settings. I give zero fricks about having lots of stud rb's if I play in six point all td's and PPR league.

You'll either be terrible (most likely) or you will win the league if you get lucky drafting RB's, like me last year with AP in the 3rd and Ridley in the 7th.

Makes it real easy to win when you draft Calvin 1st and Brees 2nd, AP 3rd and Marshall in the 4th.
then get lucky with Decker in the 6th, Ridley in the 7th and Wayne in the 9th.
Sad part is I wasted my 5th pick on Gates, when I could have gotten Gonzales. and had the 49ers lived up to expectations fantasy wise, it would have been even more ridiculous.

In my league last year four QBs went in the first round and only one of those teams made the playoffs. I draft seventh this year. I would take Brees or Rodgers with my second round pick or Manning with my third. Besides that it'll be round four or later for me.

12 teams
1 point per 25 yards
6 points for TD
5 point bonus for 300 yards passing.

It all comes down to how the draft is going. If you're on the clock and there has or hasn't been a run on QBS, will determine if you believe you can wait another round or two before you draft one.

Inevitably, there's a knuckle head who does something stupid and changes the outlook of the draft.

You don't believe in what you saw in Kaepernick last year?

Maybe I shoulda read this part. I probably wouldn't have written what I did in my first paragraph

The more I think about it, the more it seems like a better deal is to wait on a QB no matter the point system.

There are a ton of QBs this year. If you can wait and get a top 5 or 6 guy later, assuming you did well in the beginning core rounds, you should be golden.

Matt Ryan might be the perfect wait to get QB this year. Has a pretty low ADP and could have a great season, even though not sure I could bring myself to get draft him being a fricking Falcon

If I'm getting 6 points per passing TD I'm taking Brees or Rodgers late 1st to mid 2nd.

Drew Brees will score 100 more points than the #4 QB in one of my leagues and 150+ more than the 12th.

I thought about what Kaep did over those last 8 games but he was still dominated by a passing QB like Brees 231-159 over that span.

I think that proves my point. I.e., that after the elite guys (Brees, Rodgers, Manning), there are many interchangeable QBs. By your example, 9 of the top 12 QBs will be within 50 points of each other. So even if you knew how QBs would rank during the season (and no one does), you'd still only be missing out on ~3 PPG by waiting 6+ rounds to take a QB. If one of the three elites is available in the late 2nd round or beyond, I might consider taking them. Otherwise, I'll let three other teams overspend for a QB by taking one in the first/early 2nd round.
