How great is it to have an experienced poven head coach, OC, and DC that have coached at almost every level and have all chosen to come back to the college level and are all, it seems, wanting to coach the rest of their days at LSU? That's just incredible to me.

Not only do we have one of, if not thee, best head coaching staffs (HC, OC, and DC) in the country for the next 5-10 years, but we'll have the best assistants in the country knocking down the doors to try to coach for and learn under these guys.

All of that just feeds into continually great recruiting classes as well. What elite person in any field doesn't want to go to the top group to learn under the best mentors and put themselves in a position to continue to improve and advance?

You can say what you want about Miles, but he has always been a great CEO style coach who surrounds himself with great coaches. While he did come in after LSU was rebuilt, our program could have turned out like so many others that make a wrong hire and aren't able to sustain their position. Miles has turned LSU into a machine that year in and year out is one of the elite teams that puts itself in contention for the MNC. And at the real world, you can't ask for much more than that.

What an amazing time to be an LSU fan! Geaux Tigers!

our other coaches are not slouches either. frank wilson and brick haley are excellent and we need to keep them.

exactly what does "rebuilt" mean. the man who brought LSU out of the post arnsparger slump was gerry dinardo. he stopped the bleeding of the states top recruits going elsewhere. dinardo didn't hire good coaches and it got him fired. nick saban continued this and added great coaching. then les miles continued the excellence. the biggest thing i thank nick saban for is "breaking the coaches salary model" that was in force at LSU. the TAF stepped up to the plate and supplemented his pay big time. suddenly, but not surprisingly, LSU became a great place to coach. in my day, LSU was a cheapskate when it came to coaching salaries; HC on down. they were viewed as state employees and were not "supposed" to make good money. but i digress; your comments are spot on. LSU has great coaches and any recruit that wants to be groomed for the NFL can find no better place to come than LSU. GREAT POST!!!!!
