Apple TV question

Got rid of cable and use an Apple TV to stream TV and movies. How come some apps won't let you use air play and is there any way around that? Is their a wired connection available for an iphone to play content in those apps.

Which apps? Pretty much everything allows AirPlay, I just AirPlay mirror my iPad or iPhone, and MBA

CBS, starz, Showtime all don't let me use airplay on I phone. I can do it with MBA but the quality is always terrible and choppy.

The apps have to be allowed to Airplay video.
For instance, HBOGO won't Airplay video because HBO won't allow it. Not a giant deal now with the HBOGO app on AppleTV but it was a big deal. Same for Amazon's video streaming app....No Airplay. There are a bunch of annoying examples.

The new version of hbogo is airplay enabled, but doesn't matter really bc hbogo is now a appletv app.,,

You should be able to double tap the home button and scroll to the left and see a button to mirror. You can mirror anything on your phone that way

Seems like air play gives a little better quality video but I'm just glad I watch these shows now.

It doesn't work on the Amazon instant video app.

Weird. Mine plays the sound to the TV but not video.
