Orlando Bloom to be the next Batman? (Plus Idris Elba debate)

quote:

According to the Daily Express, Orlando is the frontrunner to land the role of Batman, with fellow British actor Henry Cavill continuing in his role as Superman for the highly-anticipated collaborative film.

The publication quotes a 'senior source' at Warner Bros as saying: 'Orlando looks odds-on to get the part even before our first casting call.

'He would be perfect to play off Henry and I think US audiences would be happy with two Brits as the joint male lead.'

Batman rumor.

Would be a surprising choice, for sure.

*quick IMDB check*

Nothing much since the last Pirates flick in 2007. He was in The Three Musketeers in 2011, but I never saw that.

Heads up guys.

Literally every high profile actor will be "attached" to this role by someone with "WB inside sources" at some point before it becomes official.

I vote we have one thread for all of these rumors.

Also, do not want Bloom.

I never understood the hate for Bloom. He does what he does, and he's pretty good at it.

I think he'd pull off Batman just fine.

But goddammit, I have to throw support at the Idris Elba mention.

I don't even mind Bloom in general, he's pretty good at what he does, but wow this would be possibly the worst possible choice for Batman outside of Shia LeBouef.

That would be legit. I think he could easily become the best Wayne/Batman combo.

Idris Elba should just go ahead and play every white character from now on.

He has quietly surpassed JGL love on this board, which is no easy task. I like the guy and all, but Jesus people are wanting him in everything these days. I still can't completely shake my hate for him when he was Charles on The Office.
