Speaking of pigeons, has anyone ever hunted them? I read an article sometime back about how there is no season or limit and they are great practice for duck s bc they come in like ducks do. Only problem is I dont know if a place that has a large congregation of them that is not in a city. This guy was shooting them in a feedlot some place, had a whole pile of them.

Was there Thursday a.m. and it was like a typical Saturday. Jillions (OK, maybe millions) of people trying to launch at the same time, and constant parade of boats running up & down every canal.

I'm glad I wasn't there today.

Yes, it was the busiest I have ever seen anywhere! It was a mad house.. Took us about 30 min in line just to launch the boat..

No, put in at Belle River launch and started that direction and came upon a flotilla off Old River. I knew it was going to be busy, but that shite was stupid. It was like fishing the causeway. If you caught a 5" google eye and didn't drop power pole, there was 2-3 pot linkers ready to take your spot. Kept 15 goggle eyes and a couple chinquapin. Wife and I threw out caught the two chinks, drifted off getting hook out and some douche was tossing anchor in the spot. I know why my dad only fished on Thursdays now. Did stick a few bass on graveyard island when I went to drop boat off. Overall, sucked old grey sweaty donkey balls.

We were bass fishing and managed to catch 5 with 4 nice ones. It was tough though and really not worth it. I will stay in Bayou Black for awhile..
