I was scared to walk by any bushes/hedges for years after I saw this movie. It was the first time I saw any scary movie where the "boogeyman" came out during the day. frick you Michael Myers!
It almost took me watching a "behind the scenes" feature of Halloween for me to fully get over this dude. (e.g. the dead leaves on the grass were put there for "effect", notice all the grass and trees are in full bloom and the only fallen leaves in sight are right there in the foreground)
