I think we tried just like USC but they wouldn't do home and home because they are well Texans.

Cotton bowl we got smoked down, but that was an awesome UT squad.

I think it may have been Saban's first year here. In a bowl or something. Can't remember exactly.

What ^he said.

I have no bone to pick with Cal but I'd love to us smoke USC.

I was talking to an Oregon fan in Dallas when we played Oregon and he hates them second in line to UW.

Very cocky, lots of old people with tons of money, very blah but think they're the cat's meow.

I remember the game now. Saban's third year with LSU...Marcus Randall was the starting QB and he laid an egg in that game if I remember correctly. I'd like to see us play them again sometime soon.

It's definitely the year after LSU won the SEC vs. #2 Tenn in the SECCG.

LSU was 6-1 (7-1) and stomped UF at the Swamp. Mauck got hurt and LSU was a .500 team afterwards. Randall tried his best, but got hurt in the Cotton Bowl with LSU ahead. Next year, Mauck back and 13-1 BCS Title.

Sound about right?

That's it. I still have the shirt from us winning the SEC.

I forgot about Mauck getting hurt. I just remember it was a bowl game and they beat us.

sounds damn right. I remember that team being possibly headed to a second straight SEC Championship game until Mauck got hurt late in a game he had no more business playing in. the game was already way passed won and Saban still had him in, for whatever reason.

And if there is a team I would love to play as an LSU fan, it's Michigan hands down.

Chad Jones mowing down UT whities was awesome...full chest bumps like he just stuck a running back after he drilled in the strikes...one of my favorite LSU moments ever...

RW was a one man wrecking crew that game. 5 for 181, and we even tried Clayton at DB some to try to slow him down.

This.

My memory is somewhat shotty and I'm not looking up, but I think it was 26-7 late in the game (maybe 33-7?) when Mauck got hurt. Chunked the rest of the season.
