why do these morons act like miles let the team decide if Hill could come back?

it's a 2 part process. First, Coach Miles had to be satisfied personally and make his decision.
Second - Coach Miles wanted the team to have their say.

That makes perfect sense to me. Because when a player screws up, it affects the whole team, the whole football family.

But I don't see where anyone can glibly draw the conclusion that Miles left it up to the team.

And I don't get all the blubbering about this deal, either. Hill screwed up. It was bad, and unjustifiable. BUt it wasn't so bad that he deserved to be thrown out with the trash. Had he struck the victim more than once - OK, then I could agree that he might need to be kicked off. and I do agree that this is it - he's got no more rope left.

I think its time to let this go, and focus on the rape case the NCAA will have on our football team after the season.

probably the same reason you decided to start a thread to discuss something that could have been done on any of the existing 2,568 threads on the same topic.....narrow minds.

TCU has to have something to argue about. It isn't like thier NFL caliber starting CB is smoking dope now, is it? (Oregon game two years ago for those of you not following me)

If Miles' vote was no, does anyone really think he would have even given the team a chance to vote?

By putting it up to a team vote, Miles basically said "I think he should be allowed back. What say you, Team?" He Miles thought that Hill shouldn't be allowed back, the team would've had no say whatsoever

The message being sent is Team and Unity. Les had decided not to kick him off the team and he wanted to get the team involved. Like Les was going to leave it up to the team. Please. Hill's past is forgiven and he is serving his debt to society. He is being disciplined for a misdemeanor. I know he is on tight leash and i saw the video, but its a misdemeanor and his probation wasn't revoked (Judge went to LSU. Boom.)

Miles will suspend Hill for 1 to 3 games. That should stop Gary P. at TCU from crying so loud about discipline.

What kills me is the self-righteous assholes who trip over themselves lining up to blast not just Hill, but moreso Miles for this.

I would bet with confidence that something approaching 70% of his teammates (hell, make that 70% of college males) have committed the 2 acts he seems to have committed- namely, he received a consensual blowjob from a fellow student while in high school, and he punched a guy at a bar after the guy apparently started some crap. 99% of the time, these events go unnoticed. In Hill's case, he becomes a thug piece of shite.

Miles is responsible for this young guy, and people want him to kick him off the team. I think that's ridiculous. I think Les is doing exactly what he should be doing: in-house discipline, while attempting to restore some sanity to the kid's world. I imagine Miles had team-mates who did the same thing (maybe even himself, for that matter), without having the world, and particularly the local fanbase, turning into a hateful lynch mob. It's up to Miles to teach the kid to behave, while at the same time somehow show him that most of the world is normal and ok, and he's just gotten caught up in the tabloid/social media frenzy.

Because it fits their narrative that Miles is not a disciplinarian despite the fact he kicked off the best QB recruit to come out of LA since Eli Manning and left us with a Harvard transfer as his replacement...kicked off a Heisman finalist, etc.

To anyone without an agenda this is as obvious as a fricking sunrise.

I also I'm tired of people acting like Hill is a terrorist as well. The guy threw a punch that was so devastating the guy he hit got right back up. For that the guy potentially loses his college career? Frankly, the overreaction by the press AND our idiotic fan base is far worse than the actual punch.

I just contacted The Dan Patrick Show because he just got it all wrong on his show. He said that he agreed with Patterson because Miles asked the players about the discipline for Hill. He polled the players about letting Hill back on the team, big difference.
