So was Hardeman's offer conditional all along?

I read about half of the "CH decommits" threads, but what I don't get is this: the guy was in the class, continues to love LSU but decomits?

So did he not have a fully commitable offer and the numbers aren't working out for him or did a commitable offer get pulled?

I love how when someone doesn't commit to LSU or decommits, people question whether he even had an offer. (I can't use the term commitable offer because that isn't even in the English language).

Get over it. He wants to go somewhere else.

While this is most likely the truth, I wouldnt be surprised if its because of other reasons. The kid was our biggest recruiter that was a commit and loves LSU. And its been reported it was a mutual split for Hardeman and LSU. I dont think he just "wants to go somewhere else".

I wouldnt be surprised if the staff knows something.

O, and i do agree with you about everyone thinking it was a conditional offer. Dude is a good football player and his offer was a legit offer. No conditional or grayshirt deal.

He was told to look elsewhere. Yes, many decommits are because the kid wants to go somewhere else. This was not the case one bit with Hardeman. He was told to explore other options by the coaching staff. He has been recruiting kids hard to LSU the last year, he was not going to decommit on his own.

There's several recruits recruiting just as much. Paris, Clapp, Washington, and now Harris

Our depth chart at CB is stacked. He wouldn't have played much for 2-3 years. While he can go to another school and play a lot sooner. He can get the same degree at other schools, but the benefit of getting more playing time is valuable. He really has to stand out for pro scouts since he's only 5'7.5. While our depth chart is going to be straight nasty next season.

I agree that there is several. But, Hardman was commited early on and was recruting Paris here. Washington has been great too. So has Clapp. And, Hardeman is close with Paris, Brown, and Hootie. And I remember an article that came out right after he committed saying how he wants to get the best players he can here and wants to be the vocal leader. IMO, he was the best just because he was committed very early on and is close with a lot of big time players. And from Texas.

I agree with the rest.

Yeah but Paris was coming here regardless.

Players recruiting other players is so common these days that it has much less pull than it used to. Sometimes it even annoys recruits because everybody does it. The more frequent it became with most recruits, the less effective of a strategy it was. Most of these recruits have friends going to different schools.

Yea i know. But still. Hardeman talked to him ALOT. Just like he talks to Tony Brown alot. Just my opinion that Hardeman was our best recruiter as a commit. Can argue and say pretty much any player that camps or whatever.

Just the fact that he was committed here early on and was very outspoken about LSU and the fact that he is from Texas. Not LA. All the guys youve mentioned are from LA. Paris is a NOLA boy. The fact that he was from Texas and was such a big recruiter for us went a long way for me.

Yeah I was hoping to see him as a lockdown slot corner here. But with the depth chart it really is best for him to find another school. I have a lot of respect for Hardeman in how he handled his whole commitment and decommitment

Me too. Class act and handled everything extremely well. Best of luck to the young man.

Yet he measured 5'7.5 at the opening. No need to add hyperbole to the thread.

He came to camp with Torrodney Prevot last summer, Prevot left without commiting, Chris did. An awkward situation was created. Chris Hardeman latched himself onto LSU and proclaimed to everyone that he was committed and began recruiting other kids hard to LSU. When the coaches sent out the scholarship papers this week, he didn't receive one. He and the coaches made a mutual split

He will get a chance at a really good school somewhere, it just won't be LSU

And whodidthat, it was just a joke man. I'm pulling for Chris to do well, I think he really bleeds purple and gold

So LSU coaches told him they wanted to him to play for LSU and made him a scholarship offer, which he comitted to, and that created an awkward situation?

Ahh. My bad. If he did commit without having a full offer than it makes more sense. He got the Mathieu comparisons early on because of size, but Mathieu is a rare once a decade type talent.
