Had a trip planned with my son an his buddy this morning, and didn't go. Late last night just started feeling really uneasy about heading out. Kids are pissed but I went with my gut.

Yep not worth it especially going offshore, kids are more important than fish.

What Im saying is... was severe weather the reason why you had a bad feeling and cancelled the trip?

FIL went out yesterday, and weather was supposedly gonna be good and all hell broke loose on them water spouts and all. Just didn't feel cool about it being just me and two kids going out today.

I can understand not going offshore without any help buy two kids. I'm always leery about going somewhere not o own with a guide, should something happen to him. Salt water fishing in South LA is worlds apart from the fresh waters I grew up around. A man can't make it to the bank to seek shelter 20 to 100 miles out very easily.

I can give you a pass if you didn't have any other help going offshore. I couldn't do it if you were going to the rolling waters of Bayou DeSiard.

Water and weather looks great on grand isle this am. Fishing not the best offshore, dead zone is huge south of island.

It is not noon yet. Load them boys up and at least take them for a boat ride in protected waters.

Depending on how old your kids are, going out with just them and myself would always give me that feeling, and I'd never go. If you have your kids, they are pretty much SOL if something happens to you.

I know people may think its paranoid to think like that, but anything can happen to you at any given time, beyond your control. Just look at Kidd Kraddick.
