Yeh, with no feet touching the ground while falling over the wall

Shuck even made contact with the ground on the other side of the wall.

So Mr. WiseGuy.. what's the difference between catching a foul ball in foul territory or the stands and catching a ball over the outfield wall?

Uhhhh. Wouldn't logic tell you that I don't understand that either?

Sounds like its time to ask for a name change.

Original

A fielder falls OUT of the field of play over a wall while never establishing himself in the field of play when he makes the catch and the batter is ruled out? How does that make any sense?

The foul pole if struck by a batted ball will actually be ruled a fair ball?

The best part of Shuck "robbing" that home run is the runner on first automatically gets to advance one base by the fielder falling over the outfield wall. WHAT?

right so what's to stop a player from climbing into the stands to catch any ball, fair or foul?

didn't the crazy japan player do this in major league 2? just stood up on top the fence and caught the ball..

My favorite part is Trout going nuts in CF

And why can't you dicks admire an awesome catch

A real Japanese player in the Majors (Ichiro) stood on top of a short wall to make a catch once.

I like the rule because it makes for badass catches. What do you do when the wall collapses (the famous minor catch and run through the fence)? They left the field of play unwillingly.

It was a ridiculously great catch. It shouldn't have been an out, IMO

Didn't he catch the ball in the field of play first?

Yes, but then the ball left the field of play. Should the base runners (if there were any) be awarded two bases?
