Got to say peeps, I have been thrown off by LSU offering some 'lesser' recruits than holding out for the big boys (so it seemed at first)

Surprised by Upchurch offer when there was so much talent in LA

No judgment, only surprised LSU found a DB they thought earned a schollie with the possibilities at the position, although now knowing Tony Brown may end up elsewhere seems we are almost finished in the defensive backfield

BUT! Lewis Neal!

Lewis Neal a guy I heard showed well in every camp he went, but remained a 3 star.

This guy is getting good reports in the summer, he may surpass Herron, Bower, and Patterson

With the combo of continuously finding these 3 stars and still bringing in nice 4 star classes.

Les is more with 'less' (players recruited less)

GEAUX TIGERS!

won't be hearing of opinions on players by me, will trust the staff they know what they are doing as far as talent goes

I'm pretty sure that Upchurch had an official offer from LSU well over a year ago (following his soph year). Hell, perhaps sooner. So there was really no reason for me to be surprised back then or not. I didn't know if recruiting services were gonna drool all over him or not. I just assumed that if LSU made that early of an offer, this kid must be dynamite.

FIFY

This is based on what I hear first hand from a coach

Always trust Les and Co. Mo Claiborne and Jacob Hester taught me that.

Why does it look like Brown is going some where else? Did I miss some thing?

Les spots talent and offers people he thinks his guys can coach up. He doesn't rely on stars.
