3 years, 24 million. Brandon Knight involved in the deal. Detroit will be a disaster long term but they will be interesting to watch.

Jennings
KCP

That's a playoff-bound starting 5 there

1st round exit. Jennings and Smith on the same team will not end well.

A lot better than the 8th worst team in the NBA and that's a solid start

Hats off to Milwaukee for getting something for Jennings.

I wonder what the frick Detroit is thinking, though, as I see Monroe and Drummond as a force to be reckoned with while the rest of their lineup is a hot mess.

Josh Smith can only hit shots around the hoop. KCP's shot hasn't fully developed yet, though he's got potential. And Jennings is an undisciplined chucker.

The blueprint for beating them would likely be to clog the middle as much as possible to make Smith and Jennings attempt to shoot from mid-range or further.

They'll definitely contend for a spot with Cleveland, Washington, and Atlanta. KCP might not be ready to contribute and that offense will be tough to watch at times with no one to space the floor.

What could they get for Monroe? I think if Drummond has a solid season starting at center, they may feel more comfortable trading away Monroe

What happened to Joe Dumars, at one point he looked like a top flight GM and now when he gets money he blows it

Nothing? They're having just as weird of an offseason as Denver.

Monroe would be a huge chip, people have been speculating about trading him since the Smith signing.

I think Detroit wins this though. I have never been a fan of Knight as a starting PG. Jennings is overrated but is still better.

His Villanueva and Gordon signings a few years ago reeked of desperation, but the Pistons didn't have any talent. They do now, and the Smith and Jennings signings still reek of desperation and it could screw up a rebuild.

I think Joe started beliving his own bullshite around 2003, when he put together the nucleus of the title team.

The last deal I remember him making that made the Pistons better was trading for Rasheed Wallace in their title season, which was the final piece of the puzzle for them.

Most subsequent deals, like Billups for Iverson or signing Charlie Villanueva and Ben Gordon, just helped the Pistons slide down into mediocrity.
