Anyone do any bass fishing this weekend?

In this past week, (sat-sat) me and my buddies prolly caught close to 200 on a river believed to have no fish left after issac

I sure hope the river falls before i start school. Or i might have to do some skipping

I'm going to Sherburne in the morning, they were schooling at the boat launch

The Red River (pool 5 anyway) is on fire right now. Me and a buddy caught around 50 this afternoon on a drop shot. Nothing big, 10-15" fish.

I took the weekend off. Hitting the refuge Thursday since it opens back up from a 2 month closing.

Driving round today produced about 60 schooling fish at the launch in about 3 packs, damn near ran over a young gator in a mud hole along the levee, and at least an 8 point in velvet that almost jumped off the levee in front of me

I believe that launch is Bayou Manual? It's the south side of Sherburne. There were some decent ones in there, I thought they might have been stripers at first, never seen large mouth school like that for that long. They wouldn't hit the worm or crankbait from the pier.

Yeah I like that one for kayak fishing cause it's longer to get to and cuts down on traffic, water is way down since the last time I was there. I used to be able to slide the kayak down the pier, now it's out of the water by about 3 feet. I didn't catch them, some guys pulled up to launch while I was on the pier so I took off riding. Haven't seen most of the WMA since late in squirrel season.
