Just an FYI, from 9a cst to 6pm cst on the NFLN today, they will have Marshall Faulk giving live updates sporadically through out the day from the practice field on the Saints first day in pads.

Theyve been doing it all week and all its been is one update/interview replayed over and over again
Or theyll get Marshall Faulk to talk about another story around the league. NFLNs coverage has been awful so far

Can't stand NFLN. They have the worst talking heads.
Posted on 7/28/13 at 9:56 am to wildtigercat93
Their focusing on the Saints "in-depth" so to speak.
They've already spent about a half hour in the first 45 mins discussing Sean being back and it's implications, Drew Brees & Jimmy Graham returning to form, Mark Ingram projections, and Saalim Hakim/Kenny Stills being new on the scene.
They are supposed to discuss the defense "in-depth" later. Akbar Gbaja-Biamila said he played in the system we now have.
I don't particularly care about what the talking heads have to say. Just looking for new info/insights and live footage at some point.

These guys obviously do VERY little research.
Baldy mistook John Jenkins for Jarvis Jenkins when saying John was suspended for the first 4 games(Jarvis is, not John). Also said he was going to start which has NEVER been said to be the case. It has always been Bunkley.
Akbar was talking up Victor Butler with no mention he is likely done for the year.
Akbar fricked up when talking about Martez, or Will, or maybe he thought they were one guy. Didn't hear JG discussed at all.
Baldy was spitting out some pretty clueless stuff like Graham costing a lot of money.
Marshall at least had somewhat of a clue.

Yeah, that whole defensive segment was terribly uninformed.
FWIW, it did seem like Faulk was pretty excited about Saalim Hakim. I wonder if he spoke to someone on the side that influenced that take?

I think it's a combination of talking with some Saints people and having played with his brother.
They said good things about him in OTAs also. I'm waiting to see what the guy can do in pads. If he can maintain that speed in pads and still make plays we may have something.

NFLN was pretty clueless when talking about the Pats yesterday as well
Its really frustrating watching guys butcher facts about you favorite team and have noone correct them

It's better than the alternative.
But, I don't think we should all be getting 49ers tattoos because the LBs can catch passes in drills.
Wish some former Saints could put a sentence together; would be cool to have them covering at camp like LT is for the Chargers, etc.

While LT can put sentences together he is one of the hardest former players to listen to. Just so damn dry and boring.

Faulk's interview with Vilma was fricking money.

Agreed, but he was much worse when he had just joined. He was so choppy last year; he's getting a bit smoother. Give him 10 years.

Faulk is definitely one of the better former players. He mostly knows what he's talking about(sometimes he's just pulling shite out of his arse though) and has a very good flow to everything he says.
That Casserly(sp?) guy who used to be a GM is very good too. Outside of that, I can think of maybe 3 or 4 other guys the NFLN has that are both knowledgeable and easy to listen too.
Edit:
And yeah I do remember when he first started(LT) and I had to change the channel after about 30 seconds of listening to him.
I'll say that Akbar guy doesn't know his shite at all but I'd rather listen to him bullshite than listen to LT say anything at all.

Warren Sapp and Michael Irvin talking back and forth reminds me of the Budweiser WAAAAZZZAAAAP commercials.
Posted on 7/28/13 at 4:11 pm to AmosMosesAndTwins
It can be entertaining at times but too much is just too much. Both guys usually talking out of their asses.
I actually like Deion. While he may not always know what he's talking about, he does have a lot of knowledge and he is very personable(sometimes he's a chucklehead but not to the point of Sapp and Irvin).

I hate LT as an analyst. Hes talks like Magic Johnson without actually saying anything interesting
This is what i hear when LT is on NFLN

Salim being his former teammate Az-Zahir Hakim little brother may have played a role. Hope he pans out though, his speed can't be coached.
