Oden reportedly looked "great" in front of a handful of teams and is expected to make a final decision shortly.

's tough to imagine the past few years going any worse for Greg Oden, who has played all of 82 games since going No. 1 overall in the 2007 Draft. After countless injuries and surgeries, the 7-footer is trying to resurrect his career one final time.

As expected, Oden worked out for a handful of teams in Indianapolis Tuesday and looked great, according to one report. It's unclear just how hard he was pushing it during the workout and what kind of basketball drills he was able to successfully do. Marc Spears of Yahoo! reports that Oden will make his decision next week and that he is considering Sacramento, Miami, Atlanta, New Orleans, San Antonio and Dallas. All of these six teams could benefit from adding to their bench, and if Oden proves to finally be healthy, he could be quite the late-July addition.

If he goes to Miami, I will be shocked. Because it goes against everything every report has said about what he's looking for in a team. If those reports are true, then all I see for him as options are the spurs and us.

99% of reports mean absolutely nothing.

...If he chooses us because of right fit/less pressure, i will be shocked.

start talking about money and play time and you're barking up the right tree.

...I guess Monty could have an effect if he and Oden have a good relationship.

...you'd be shocked that a free agent decided to join the defending champ? ya, free agents hate going to miami

Just because it would be so different from what the reports say. It really shouldn't surprise me. Miami is a world-class championship organization. Just not what I thought Greg would look for

I agree with both of your comments. I can't get so biased with my own team. I'm really trying not to be with this whole situation, just like I was with the tyreke trade. The heat would be a very good destination for Oden.

I hope we get Oden...would be awesome...but if we're hoping we're gonna get him cause there's less pressure here, it's not gonna happen. JMO

Yeah, I've been thinking about it, I don't think hell have much pressure on him wherever he goes. We just have to sell him on Monty and on our potential as an organization

...offering the best contract is #1. I'm not sure about the details or if we can offer the best deal. It's absolutely worth it to guarantee two years if the other teams aren't willing to do that, imo.

Potential as an organization is a good one, and I think free agents care about that, but the Heat have us beat there easy.

Monty knowing him is cool and that could help, but I think the other points are more important for free agents.

Giving him more money and more time shows we care. And that matters. And hell, maybe the Monty thing will work. We don't know. We have just as good of a shot as everyone else has. I'll give this offseason an A+ regardless.

Sounds like this is just that trainer's tweet being reported as news.
